GENERAL PURPOSE

Teach basic skills including letters, numbers, elemental natural and social, music, art, literature and behavioral skills to children in the kindergarten phase to advance their physical, mental, and social development and maximize their potential in a positive and safe environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a school academic-related area
  • Hold Tesl, Tefl or Tesol certificate
  • Two years of teaching experience (preferably working with children between the ages of two and six)
  • Commitment to creating a positive and loving learning environment for young learners
  • Knowledge of TPR
  • Committed to diverse linguistic and cultural educational settings
  • Willingness to learn about the Chinese culture, can work in multicultural environment
  • Ability to commit to a one-year contract

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Native English speaking country
  • Master’s degree in Education, TESOL, Bilingual Education, ESL/EFL Education, or another Education/English-related discipline
  • Teaching credentials in early childhood development
  • Other certificates related to working with young learners or teaching English
  • At least two years of experience teaching in a Kindergarten setting
  • Have Art/Music background or experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow kindergarten’s program and helps each student achieve learning objectives and curriculum goals
  • prepare lesson materials and resources
  • select and use instructional methods and materials appropriate to the students and learning activities
  • utilize games, music, books, art, technology and other resources to teach basic skills and foster student development
  • adapt standard teaching methods to meet different student needs and interests
  • create a positive and appropriate classroom environment that is conducive to learning
  • develop and implement a suitable classroom management system.
  • encourage cooperative social behavior through games and activities
  • observe, evaluate and record children’s social and academic progress
  • provide constructive feedback to parents, guardians and administration
  • prepare and distribute written reports
  • apply and follow up on approved disciplinary interventions
  • make referrals for assistance where necessary
  • instruct children on personal hygiene practices and self care
  • ensure equipment and facilities are clean and safe
  • collaborate with other staff members to promote the general health of the school
  • perform required administrative duties including attending staff meetings
  • uphold the school code of conduct and all school policies, rules and procedures in a supportive and positive manner

Compensation

  • Competitive salary from 18k to 24k RMB per month
